The idea for Travel That Makes Sense After Fifty emerged during my flight home from London in December 2025, inspired by visits to the city’s renowned bookstores, particularly the Notting Hill Bookstore.
Exploring these shelves and observing how travel and nonfiction stories are brought to life clarified my own vision. Before the plane departed, I had already begun outlining the book.
Today, January 22, 2026, marks Day 40 of writing. This is an appropriate time to pause and reflect on the progress since I began on December 14, 2025, the day I was returning from London.
The December flight home served as the starting point for this project. As the concept developed, I outlined key ideas and drafted the first three chapters within a few days.
In the weeks following December 14, 2025, I established a consistent routine focused on steady progress. Mornings were dedicated to drafting, evenings to revising, and shorter sessions throughout the day to refining details.
By mid January, initial notes had developed into promising chapters. In parallel, I explored digital self-publishing tools, tested draft-organizing platforms, and connected with editors, designers, and publishing professionals.
Each step has been essential in understanding what is required to create a high-quality book. Enjoy reading "Content Pause with Ongoing Creative Progress."
At this stage, taking a pause is a strategic decision. With several chapters drafted and the direction established, stepping back allows me to assess the structure, identify areas for improvement, and ensure a cohesive narrative.
This milestone marks the transition to the next phase: designing the book cover. The visual identity will shape readers’ first impressions. While the manuscript continues to develop, this pause allows me to refine my decisions and prepare for the next steps
